When the Linney Film team began working on Cineworld’s “Be More Childish” campaign for the release of Inside Out 2, it needed something special to bring the space-themed concept to life. The centrepiece of the shoot was a control panel – a playful prop that a child would use to “control” the thoughts and behaviours of adults. And who better to craft this imaginative set piece than the Linney Regenerate team?
The catch? The control panel had to look like something a child might build themselves, using upcycled items. Drawing on our expertise in repurposing materials, we created a functional, imaginative and eye-catching desk using a blend of salvaged objects. The base of the control panel was made from a simple piece of wood, while the switches, dials and buttons were sourced from a variety of upcycled items, including parts from an old microphone, arcade machine buttons, a big red button, a bike horn and lights from a broken shop sign.
Our team put its creative problem-solving skills to work, transforming these disparate materials into a cohesive and engaging control panel complete with working lights, dials and buttons. The end result was a fantastical prop that looked like it had come straight out of a child’s imagination, perfectly aligning with the fun, adventurous spirit of the “Be More Childish” campaign.
Although this playful desk couldn’t actually control adults, it did manage to bring the campaign’s creative vision to life and added a touch of whimsical charm to the film shoot. This project is a testament to our Regenerate team’s ability to turn everyday objects into something extraordinary while promoting sustainability through upcycling.
The Cineworld control panel project highlighted our commitment to repurposing materials in fun and inventive ways, while delivering a high-quality product on a tight deadline. It was a perfect example of how sustainability and creativity can come together to craft something truly memorable.
