Celebrating Valentine’s Day with sustainable hearts at St Pancras

For Valentine’s Day, the Linney Regenerate team brought a sustainable vision to life with a striking display at St Pancras International. Tasked with creating an installation that both wowed onlookers and reflected our commitment to eco-friendly practices, we developed a solution that celebrated love while prioritising sustainability.

The centrepiece of the display was a series of intricately laser-cut hearts, arranged in twelve layers to create a visually dynamic, three-dimensional effect. These hearts were crafted from responsibly sourced materials, offering both beauty and environmental consciousness. However, what truly made the display stand out was the innovative design of the frame itself.

The entire structure was built with adaptability in mind. Using sustainably sourced wood, the frame was engineered to be a long-term fixture that could easily be updated for future campaigns. This design allowed for only the decorative elements – such as the hearts made from card – to be swapped out and recycled after each campaign, significantly reducing waste. For future events, new card cut-outs can be added with minimal impact on materials, ensuring the display continues to serve its purpose in a sustainable way.

The tactile design of the custom heart holders added another layer of interaction, drawing people into the experience. Positioned in a bustling transport hub like St Pancras, this thoughtful blend of sustainability and creativity stood out amidst the digital signage and commercial surroundings, offering a refreshing take on how design can balance aesthetic impact with environmental responsibility.

This display is not just a celebration of Valentine’s Day; it’s a testament to how sustainability can be seamlessly integrated into high-impact visual experiences. The Regenerate team’s use of adaptable design elements ensures that the installation can be repurposed for future campaigns with minimal waste, reinforcing our commitment to innovative, eco-friendly solutions.
