When Samworth Brothers approached our Regenerate team to design trophies for its charity Three Peaks Challenge, we saw an opportunity to combine innovative design with sustainable materials. The awards, given for achievements such as “Quickest” and “Toughest”, needed to be as unique as the challenge itself. We set out to create one-of-a-kind trophies that reflected the rugged beauty of the peaks while adhering to our commitment to eco-friendly practices.
The trophies were designed to resemble one of the peaks the team scaled during the challenge. Using 3D printing, we first created a digital model of the peak, which was then cast in silicone to form the moulds. The trophies were crafted from a sustainable blend of Jesmonite and recycled paper dust, with a cork base for stability. This material combination not only gave the trophies a distinctive texture but also ensured they were environmentally friendly.
To enhance the design, we dyed the trophies with an earthy camouflage pattern, symbolising the natural landscapes of the peaks the team conquered. Each trophy was then finished with a plaque commemorating the recipient’s achievement, making these awards truly personal and meaningful.
The result was a set of bespoke trophies that not only celebrate the accomplishments of the Samworth Brothers team but also align with our ethos of sustainability. By using recycled materials and eco-friendly production techniques, we were able to deliver unique, high-quality awards that will serve as lasting reminders of the team’s incredible efforts.
These trophies exemplify how even the smallest details – like those on an award – can be designed with sustainability in mind, creating something both beautiful and environmentally responsible.
